After you’ve been somewhere, you log the place and the rough hour you were there. If someone else logged the same place during the same window, you'll see them as a possible match. Tap "That's them," and they'll see it was you — your name and your photo, just them and no one else. If they feel the same, you match. If they don't, nothing happens: a no is silent, and you're never told.

Encore is romantic by default, but it's not a swipe app. It's for the moment between two people who noticed each other and ran out of time. That often leads to dating. Sometimes it leads to something else.

Most dating apps show you everyone who could theoretically be a match. Encore only shows you people you were actually in the same room as. There's no infinite scroll. No strangers from across the city. The person who was actually there with you is the only person Encore is interested in helping you find.

Yes. Encore only works when both people log the same place around the same time. It isn't a way to track someone down — it's a way to re-find someone who was already noticing you back.

We're starting in New York. Density matters more than reach for a product like this — Encore gets meaningfully better when more people in your specific neighborhood are using it. We'll expand by neighborhood and city from there.

Early access begins this summer in New York. Apply to join — your application is your profile, built in the app and read by a person. If it's a yes, your phone will know.

Your check-ins are never public, and we never reveal who's at a venue. The only people who can ever see you are people who logged the same place during the same window — to them you can appear as a possible match. Nobody who wasn't there sees you at all. You only match when both people indicate interest. When you tap "That's them," that one person sees your name and profile in their Noticed list — nobody else does. If they don't feel the same, nothing happens: they can quietly dismiss it, and either way you're never told. No read receipts, no public likes. When both sides tap "That's them," Encore opens a chat between you.

Encore will be free to join. We'll introduce a paid tier later for people who want richer features, but the core matching experience will always be free.

Your account info, your profile, your check-ins, and your messages with matches. We never sell your data, and we don't use your photos for AI training. Full breakdown in the privacy policy.

Check-ins are rate-limited and confidence-scored against the device's actual location, so people can't claim to be where they weren't. Blocking is mutual. Reporting is built in. We'll be hands-on through the early period — Encore is small enough that we read every report.
